New, larger iPhones coming?

Sascha Segan of PCMag.com comments on reports that Apple is developing phones with 4.7- and 5.5-inch displays.

While the release of Apple's iPhone 5s and 5c are still fresh, reports are already swirling about the next generation.

There is chatter about larger screens, as in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, enhanced sensors able to detect different pressure levels and a curved screen.

If the reports are true, it would put the iPhone in competition with other "phablets," such as the Samsung Note and HTC One Max.

It also means Apple might change technologies to accommodate the curved screen. Apple uses LCD (liquid crystal design) but may change to OLED, which rival Samsung uses on its Galaxy Round which is already in stores in Korea.

Reports say the iPhone 6 will go on sale in the second half of 2014.
