US Airways, AMR reach antitrust settlement -source
NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - US Airways Group Inc and AMR Corp have reached a settlement with U.S. antitrust regulators who had filed suit to stop the two airlines from merging, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
The government filed a lawsuit in August arguing that US Airways and AMR Corp, parent of bankrupt American Airlines, should be forced to scrap their proposed merger, which would create the world's largest airline.
The Justice Department declined to comment.
