PriceGrabber President Jeff Goldstein discusses the top retailing trends heading into the Black Friday, saying that 83 percent of shoppers will buy at home on cyber Monday.

What's treading, I mean trending, this holiday season?

As it turns out, car tires are driving sales. But enough puns.

"It is one of our top 10 trending products over the course of this weekend," said Jeff Goldstein, president of comparison site PriceGrabber.com. "It's a sign of two things: People buy a lot of stuff online, including tires, and it's getting cold."

Goldstein told "Street Signs" other best-selling items include Samsung 55-inch LED TVs, Craftsman drill kits, men's work boots, Kitchen-Aid mixers, Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones, SanDisk memory cards and Insignia LED light bulbs.

As always seems to be the case, though, electronics are expected to be the biggest get this holiday season. The release of new gaming consoles and discounted high-definition televisions will drive sales at Best Buy and make it the biggest winner this holiday season, JPMorgan's Christopher Horvers told "Power Lunch."

Costco will continue to do well, he added, but Target and Wal-Martprobably will offset each other. Target should get a bigger lift from gaming, while Wal-Mart's overall low-price message seems to stick with consumers.

Both Horvers and Stacey Widlitz, a retail analyst with SW Retail Advisors, said retailers offering holiday sales ahead of Black Friday will get repeat business.

The cold weather could drive sales at apparel retailers, said Neely Tamminga, senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray. Horvers agreed, adding that he likes Dick's Sporting Goods.

There is some concern about "showrooming," a term used to describe how some shoppers visit a store's showroom only to buy the product online. To break this practice, Goldstein said some stores plan to offer aggressive price-matching and free shipping. Such strategies seems to be working already.

Heavy price competition among retailers will likely crush gross margins, Widlitz said. Many retailers, including Best Buy, have already warned that gross margins will likely dip in the fourth quarter, she said.

But Horvers downplayed the impact of Best Buy's price matching, noting that the retailer has been doing it for a long time.
