Chart of the Day: Which cities are strongest?
U.S. single-family home prices posted their strongest gains in more than 7 years in September, though not all cities are doing as well as others.
The west coast continues to lead the housing recovery, with the four biggest year-on-year gainers in the southwestern part of the country.
But not every major metropolitan area is growing at double digits—some are barely growing at all, or even shrinking a little.
At least five cities shrank or barely grew in September compared to August, suggesting the possibility of more weakness ahead.
