Anti-drone lobbyists, coupled with FedEx and UPS, should team up and attempt to ground 's lofty ambitions of an automated drone delivery fleet, CNBC's Jim Cramer said on Monday.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos told CBS television program "60 Minutes" on Sunday night that his company was testing unmanned "octocopters" to deliver packages that weigh up to 5 pounds by using GPS navigation. Cramer said Monday that UPS and FedEx should fight any potential drone plans from Amazon before the Federal Aviation Administration.

The use of Amazon's proposed drone fleet probably remains four or five years away, Bezos said.

"You go [before the FAA] and you say, 'Listen, drones will crash on the highway,'" Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street." "Drones could hit people in the head."

When asked about the potential of drone deliveries in dense urban areas, Cramer referenced a zombie apocalypse franchise: "Holy cow. It could be like 'World War Z' out there."

Bezos announced his drone ambitions the night before Cyber Monday, the peak online shopping day, leading Cramer to call him a "mastermind." He said the news segment in which Bezo revealed the drone testing plans caused him to check out Amazon's Cyber Monday deals.

"We have to take him seriously, but we also have to take UPS, FedEx and every lobbyist that is going to be against this seriously too," Cramer said earlier Monday on CNBC. "This is a fantastic advertisement for going to Amazon."
