Road Warrior read-in: Winter storms, worst fliers survey

Here's a quick hit of what Road Warrior editors are reading.

The latest winter storms have already put the kibosh on more than 1,000 flights scheduled for Monday, according to FlightAware's list of flight cancellations.

The nation's largest air carrier, American Airlines, began trading Monday under the AAL ticker after the Supreme Court rejected a challenge to block the mashup with US Airways. CEO Doug Parker promised on CNBC on Monday that fares won't rise "as long as demand stays the same."

Southwest Airlines said it will end service to Branson, Mo., Key West, Fla., and Jackson-Evers, Miss., as of June 7, USA Today reports.

In January, Finnair will install fully flat seats in business class on long-haul flights, according to Buying Business Travel.

Metro-North Railroad has finished installing an automatic braking system in the Bronx near the site where one of its trains derailed earlier this month, killing four passengers, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Network Rail in the U.K. is starting a new parcel service, Doddle, that allows customers to send and receive parcels from train stations, according to PSFK.

A new survey conducted by Northstar for Expedia on in-flight etiquette finds inattentive parents are the "most annoying" fliers, according to other passengers. Line jumpers barely even make the Top 10.
