CNBC's Bob Pisani and Art Cashin, of UBS, discuss rumors of when the Fed may taper, and whether the markets are headed towards a "Santa Claus rally."

Art Cashin says "keep your ear out for Santa. He may be heading this way."

Cashin, UBS' director of floor operations at the NYSE, told CNBC's Bob Pisani around midday that "usually the Santa Claus rally starts shortly before Christmas itself and extends right through New Year's. So, if we get that it might push a lot of people who have already been underperforming to try and chase some return and that could make it very interesting" by giving stocks an additional upward push.

While a traditional Santa rally wouldn't start for another two weeks or so, Cashin says, "Sometimes Santa comes early."
