Japan reported a trade deficit of 1.292 trillion yen ($12.56 billion) in November, slightly narrower than expectations for a 1.319 trillion yen deficit in a Reuters poll, data on Wednesday showed.

Exports rose 18.4 percent on year marking their ninth consecutive rise as a weaker yen continues to boost global demand for Japanese goods. The reading was higher than expectations for a 17.9 percent on-year rise, but slightly below October's 18.6 percent gain.

Imports rose 21.1 percent on year in November compared with expectations for a 21.4 percent rise.
