Tesla recalls cars because of overheating adapter
Tesla is recalling up to 29,000 of its cars due to an issue with a charging adapter. The company said it will mail owners a replacement adapter with an internal fuse and issue a software update to fix the problem.
The adapter could risk overheating, causing "problems including melted adapters and, in a worst-case scenario, fire," the company said in a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on January 12.
The company's stock is actually up after issuing sales figures for the fourth quarter, with deliveries 20% above guidance.
