There have been rumors that e-commerce giant Amazon.com would launch a smartphone for years. Now Techfaster has reported that the company might have one this year, and it might have some very enticing functionality.

The phone would likely have "a 5-inch HD screen...possible 3D gesture tracking, a 13-megapixel camera and a Snapdragon 800 processor," the report said, citing another report from DigiTimes.

There's no confirmation as yet what other company would help produce the phone.
