Is HTC's new smartphone the iPhone killer?

HTC unveiled its new HTC One M8 smartphone on Tuesday in simultaneous announcements in New York and London.

The new phone boasts "Duo Camera" technology that allows users to refocus a picture after taking it, Boomsound speakers that are 25 percent louder than its predecessor and an impressive 90 percent metal design.

HTC Americas President Jason MacKenzie said on "Fast Money" that the company has always been ahead of the smartphone trend. "I would say we're not late to the market, we invented the market," he said. "It's like LL Cool J said … 'don't call it a comeback.'"
