Neiman Marcus in talks for Manhattan store: Report

Neiman Marcus is eyeing entry into New York City, as it comes close to signing a deal for a location in the forthcoming Hudson Yards development, according to an article in the New York Post.

The luxury retailer, which operates a Bergdorf Goodman store near Central Park, is in negotiations with Related Cos. about opening a multilevel store with the potential to be larger than 200,000 square feet, the Post said, citing sources.

A spokeswoman from Neiman Marcus declined to comment to the publication, and a spokeswoman for real estate developer Related Cos. was not immediately able to comment to the Post.

Hudson Yards' footprint, on Manhattan's West Side, will span 17 million square feet, including more than 100 shops, a luxury hotel and about 5,000 residences. The retail center is expected to open in 2018.
