Bringing the fresh ocean smell to your car

If a scented pine tree hanging from the rear view mirror isn't enough to leave your car smelling fresh, automakers have a new offering that may better fit your needs.

For last month's National Sense of Smell Day, Ford teamed up with ScentAir, a scent marketing company. The company created seven aromas to cater to a "more enjoyable drive," including ocean, mahogany and summer grass.

According to a report in Adweek, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz already offer mechanisms to add scents to a car's interior. General Motors' Cadillac has added a fragrance to its seat leather for more than a decade, and said it is considering the idea for other brands.
