Companies granting investor's three wishes

A small group of companies just delivered three things investors wish for: beat earnings estimates, beat revenue estimates and boosted earnings guidance for the future.

Usually companies that pull off these three wishes are about as rare as a genie's lamp. But in the nearly completed first-quarter earnings season, 75 companies including tech companies Alliance Fiber, Advanced Micro Devices and apparel marker Columbia Sportswear, answered investors' hopes, says Bespoke Investment Group.

Seeing this many companies deliver on these three common investor wishes isn't all that common. Last earnings season just 50 companies managed to do it, Bespoke says.
