Englewood Cliffs, NJ, May 15, 2014– Jim Pavia, Senior Editor at Large, CNBC Digital, is to receive the Malcolm S. Forbes Public Awareness Award for Excellence in Advancing Financial Understanding Among the Public from the New York Chapter of the Financial Planning Association today, Thursday, May 15, 2014. The Award will be presented to Pavia by Wallace Forbes, the President of the Forbes Investors Advisory Institute (FIAI), at the 15th Annual FPANY Spring Forum, hosted by S&P Capital IQ at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center in New York City.

The Malcolm S. Forbes Public Awareness Award is given each year to the person or organization whose contributions have advanced financial understanding among the public, as well as the value of the financial professional. Named in honor of the late Malcolm S. Forbes, the award was created by the New York Chapter in response to the FPA's national consumer financial education campaign. Launched in 1996, the program's primary objective is to increase public awareness of the value of financial planning. Past Award recipients include the late Louis Rukeyser, Morningstar's Don Phillips, Jean Chatzky, Ben Stein and Jane Bryant Quinn.
