Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino is in discussions to withdraw from a concussion-related lawsuit he filed against the National Football League, the Sun Sentinel reported on Tuesday, citing a source.

The former Miami Dolphins quarterback, who retired in 1999, is one of 15 former players who filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia last week. The players claim that the league misled them about the dangers of concussions.

"It was never Marino's intention to initiate litigation in this case, but to ensure that in the event he had adverse health consequences down the road, he would be covered with health benefits," the source said. "They are working to correct the error."
