Iran deploys forces to fight rebels: WSJ, citing Iranian sources

Iran has sent elite troops to Iraq to assist the country's government against al Qaeda-inspired rebels, according to the Wall Street Journal.

These militants overran some cities in Iraq as the country's government tries to regain control.

With help from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Iraq has been able to regain control of about 85 percent of Tikrit, an Iraqi city.
