Where are you putting your money in the second half?

With the first six months of the year over, investors will be refreshing their portfolio strategies for the second half amid ongoing concerns about the health of the U.S. economic recovery, global bond yields and accommodative monetary policy stances from central banks in the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Here's a look at how some major asset classes have performed so far this year.

In equity markets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 1.7 percent while the S&P 500 has surged over 6 percent. London's benchmark FTSE has only inched up 0.1 percent. Gold meanwhile, has been the stand out performer this year with gains exceeding 9 percent.
