On Friday, Topeka, Kansas, Gov. Sam Brownback will sign a proclamation designating October as Zombie Preparedness Month, according to KSN.com.
So how do you prepare for the zombie apocalypse? Just like any other disaster, according to the state's emergency management authorities. They suggest equipping yourself with a home emergency kit and supplies to last three days.

To celebrate the new month-long educational program, a festival will be held in the state capital Oct. 25, when disaster-on-the-go packs will be distributed and a zombie fun run will take place.
