Apple has released iOS 8.0.2, which promises to fix the issues that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded the 8.0.1.

On Wednesday, Apple had released the iOS 8's first update but soon reported that users were experiencing problems that affected cellular network connectivity and the Touch ID functionality. To address those issues, the company offered a temporary workaround while they worked on a new update.

"iOS 8.0.2 is now available for users, it fixes an issue that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded iOS 8.0.1, and includes improvements and bug fixes originally in iOS 8.0.1. We apologize for inconveniencing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who were impacted by the bug in iOS 8.0.1," said a company spokesperson on Thursday evening.

Some of the other iOS 8.0.2 fixes include allowing apps to access photos from the phone's photo library and allowing users to download the HealthKit app.

"In a sense, this was an easier update, since it was just about finding what was messing up the cell service and Touch ID on the updated phones, and fixing that. iOS 8.0.2 is really just the 8.0.1 update that doesn't brick your phone," said Pete Pachal, tech editor for Mashable.

Pachal also noted that what's unusual about Apple is that even though the affected iOS 8.0.1 was a major stumble for them, the company has such a loyal following that customers will likely forgive and forget. "Had a Google, Verizon or Samsung done something like this, there would be a lot more venom aimed at them," he said.
