Trump: I could make this country great again

Real estate mogul Donald Trump is considering a presidential run and will make a final decision on his candidacy in the not-too-distant future, he told CNBC.

In an interview at Trump National Doral in Miami, where the WGC Cadillac Championship golf tournament kicks off on Thursday, Trump said that being president is a lot like running a golf course.

"I could do exactly what I did here. I took a piece of property that was really in trouble and made it the hottest resort in the country. I could make this country great again," he said.

Last week in a straw poll from the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump earned more votes than Gov. of New Jersey. Trump said there's a 75 percent chance he will put his hat in the ring.

When it comes to other Republican nominees, Trump said there is an abundance of people who have sought his support, but he thinks it's going to be tough for GOP front-runner Jeb Bush.

"He's in favor of Common Core, but he's weak on immigration," Trump said. "He's got a couple of issues that are very unpopular with Republicans and conservatives."

Trump said that people may think he's having fun being coy about his presidential ambitions, but he insisted it's not about publicity.

"It's not about that," he said. "It's about making this country great."
