After-hours buzz: Digital Ally, Herbalife, Chesapeake & more

Digital Ally - The digital camera maker reported adjusted fourth-quarter earnings of 5 cents per share, an improvement from a loss of 50 cents a share a year ago. The company said revenue rose 55 percent to $5.4 million, which sent the stock rallying 11 percent.

Herbalife - The weight loss management firm's stock rose nearly 1 percent on reports the company's chief financial officer was touring the country to meet with large investors.

Chesapeake Energy - The stock rose more than 2 percent after investor Carl Icahn increased his stake in the firm to 73 million shares, up from 66 million shares in December. The oil and gas company also lowered its 2015 capital expenditures by $500 million, citing weak commodity prices.

Whiting Petroleum - Shares tumbled about 12 percent after the energy-related company announced a 35 million share offering.

Hercules Technology Growth Capital - Shares fell about 3 percent after the lender announced the offering of 6.6 million shares of common stock.

La Quinta Holdings - The stock fell more than 2 percent after it announced a secondary offering of 17.5 million shares of common stock.
