CRF Frozen Foods said Monday that it is expanding a voluntary recall to 358 products after seven people were hospitalized with Listeria.

The company had originally only recalled 15 frozen vegetable products on April 23. At the time, CRF said that no customers had reported illnesses related to those products.

Since then, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contacted CRF and informed them of the seven people who were hospitalized. The company added that only some of these cases have been confirmed as being connected to products processed or manufactured by CRF.

"CDC also informed us that, sadly, two of these individuals later died, but that Listeria was not the cause of death in either person," CRF said in its Monday statement.

In that statement, the company also said the recall now includes all frozen fruit and vegetable products that passed through its Pasco, Washington, facility since May 1, 2014. CRF had already suspended operations and begun a review of its processing plant.

CRF also said that it has informed all retailers who may have carried the affected products, which could have been purchased in all 50 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces.

Affected CRF-processed items include those carried by Trader Joe's, Simply Nature, Kirkland Signature and fast-food chain Panda Express.

Customers who purchased the recalled products are advised to dispose of the item or return them to the retailer for a refund.

CRF did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
