Republic Airways Holdings Inc

  • March 28- American Eagle Airlines will shrink its fleet and will lose the opportunity to fly larger regional jets that its parent American Airlines Group has ordered after its pilots rejected a concessionary labor contract, the subsidiary said on Friday.

  • Government Accountability Office, which analyzed data on pilots from 2000 to 2012, said 11 of 12 regional carriers it interviewed for its study had problems meeting their hiring needs.

  • Feb 28- Regional airlines are having a hard time finding pilots, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a study published on Friday. Earlier this month, Republic Airways Holdings said a scarcity of qualified pilots would hurt pretax income as it cuts its planned flying.
