INDIANAPOLIS-- Republic Airways Holdings Inc., which owns regional airlines, said Wednesday that traffic fell 7 percent in April as its Frontier Airlines subsidiary shrunk. Besides Frontier, which it has tried to sell or spin off, Indianapolis- based Republic owns Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.
Frontier, a subsidiary of Indianapolis- based Republic Airways Holdings Inc., flies to more than 75 destinations in the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean. It operates a hub in Denver, where it competes against United Airlines and Southwest Airlines. Republic shares fell 2 cents to $11.57 in afternoon trading.
