    PALO ALTO, Calif.— Tibco said Wednesday that its board is studying potential strategic and financial alternatives for the business software maker. Tibco Software Inc. said three of its independent directors formed a special committee for the review process, which began on Aug. 16. Tibco shares ended regular trading Wednesday down 16 cents at $21.04.

    Aug 6- Business software maker Tibco Software Inc has been approaching potential suitors, including private equity firms, Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Tibco shares closed up 7.5 percent at $20.75 on the Nasdaq on Wednesday. The company had a market value of $3.2 billion as of Tuesday close.
