SAN JOSE, Calif. _ Ultratech Inc. on Thursday reported a loss of $1.7 million in its first quarter. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 17 cents per share. Ultratech shares have declined almost 2 percent since the beginning of the year.
