Fitch Ratings said Wednesday it may downgrade the credit ratings for Liberty Media LLC and its QVC Inc. subsidiary after Liberty Entertainment said it may spin off its holding in DirecTV, depriving the company of some cash flow.

Liberty Media Corp will spin off its stake in DirecTV Group and other assets into a publicly traded company called Liberty Entertainment Group SA <LMDIA.O>, taking the first step to simplify ownership of the satellite TV provider.
