While Alcoa is getting all the attention, Australia is again helping Asian markets due to a much better than expected jobs report there...Australia reported an increase of 40,600 jobs in August versus a forecast of a drop of 10,000 jobs.    Read More

As the G20 world points fingers at the US for it's weak dollar policy, the Obama administration and Federal Reserve should take notice. It's not the specifics of a new world reserve currency or the specifics of pricing oil in non-dollar terms, it's the fact that it's being discussed that matters! The rest of the world is greatly and gravely concerned not only of the current US dollar decline, but also of the potential bigger decline yet to come.    Read More

Global stock markets are higher overnight due to...Australia? Yep. The central bank there became the first G20 country to raise interest rates, by 25 basis points to 3.25 points. The Australian dollar jumped to a 14-month high, and stocks rose as well.   Read More
