Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez lashed out at an agreement for American troops to use more Colombian military bases on Friday, accusing the U.S. of aiming to start a conflict and urging his military to be prepared.

CNBC Producer Lulu Chiang had the rare opportunity to be a guest on the USS Harry S. Truman, home to 3000 sailors. The Truman is the ninth nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the eighth in the Nimitz class.  It was christened on September 7, 1996 and commissioned July 25, 1998. The Harry S. Truman embarked on its maiden deployment November 28, 2000.
