Shares of Analog Devices Inc. rose Tuesday after the chip maker forecast a 20 percent increase in revenue for the first quarter and higher-than-expected earnings as the economy gradually recovers.

Chipmaker Analog Devices Inc. said Monday its net income fell 27 percent in the fiscal fourth quarter, as demand declined for semiconductors in its industrial and communications business.

Analog Devices reported a quarterly profit that fell from a year ago but topped Wall Street's expectations, sending shares higher in extended trading.
