L-3 Communications said Monday it has agreed to acquire Chesapeake Sciences Corp., a developer and manufacturer of anti-submarine warfare systems. Terms were not disclosed.

Military contractor L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. said its board has authorized a stock buyback program of up to $1 billion over the next two years, effective immediately.
It was an ugly first half for the stock market and now that the goal posts have been moved for the economic recovery, expect a rough game in the second half.
