NEW YORK (Reuters) - Computer maker Sun Microsystems Inc <JAVA.O> suffered a 25 percent fall in quarterly revenue, as uncertainty over its delayed sale to Oracle Corp <ORCL.O> hurt its business.
Intel, the world’s largest chip maker, has for years used large rebates and co-marketing arrangements to talk Dell and other manufacturers into sticking with its products rather than increasing their business with A.M.D., according to a lawsuit filed by the New York attorney general's office. The New York Times reports.
Economists expect growth in U.S. manufacturing picked up in October as the economy improved and demand from overseas increased, welcome signs for the fledgling recovery.

The number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for jobless benefits rose more than expected last week, after falling in five of the past six weeks.
Stocks advanced Wednesday as investors were encouraged by a few earnings reports, including Morgan Stanley, Yahoo and SanDisk. The VIX, widely considered the best gauge of fear in the market, dropped to just above 20.
