Rebecca Jarvis is a general assignment reporter, based at CNBC's global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Jarvis can be seen reporting live from the NASDAQ Market Site, the New York Stock Exchange, and the New York Mercantile Exchange. She contributes to MSNBC and NBC News programs, and anchors CNBC Marketwrap Updates for MSNBC, CNBC Asia and NBC Mobile. Jarvis also regularly guest anchors for the “Closing Bell,” “CNBC Reports,” “The Call,” “Squawk on the Street,” “Squawk Box,” and “Power Lunch.”

To her reporting, Jarvis brings hands-on business experience in both investment banking and foreign currency trading. As an investment banker with Banc of America Securities, she analyzed and advised $6 billion in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions. Prior to that, she executed interest rate trades on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London.

Jarvis left financial services to pursue a career in journalism and has written for publications ranging from Crain's Chicago Business to Business 2.0.

Jarvis graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and Law, Letters & Society. A recipient of the University of Chicago Dean's Grant, she also studied European banking and financial markets at the Université Sciences Po and Dauphine Université in Paris, France.
