Do I need to have Windows Media Player installed to view video on CNBC.com?
Yes. Windows Media Player is required (version 9 and above). To check your version, open the player, click on the small triangle at the top right of the player, select "Help," and then "About" from the top toolbar. You can also download the latest version of Windows Media Player at the Microsoft's Download Center.

Why do video clips sometimes stop or pause?
The most common cause of a pause or stop is Internet traffic congestion. There is a limit to the amount of information able to pass through your Internet connection, and if you exceed this, the player will "buffer" the data until it can pass.

Can I share CNBC.com video with others?
CNBC.com allows the email of videos to others or the copy and paste of a selected videos URL. Simply click on the share button next to any video of interest on the video page. Please note that CNBC.com videos are available for free for 6 months.

I can open player, but I cannot see any videos?
A browser error may have occurred or an application error may be causing the problem. Try closing the player, and then reopen it.

If you are using a Firefox version 1.5 browser you will require a plugin. Click here to get the plugin.

Additionally, your Internet Service Provider could be experiencing problems with its servers. If you cannot view other pages on the Internet, and if the problem persists, you should contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance. However, if you can access the player on another machine or other people can view it, it may be a problem with your browser cache.

To clear your browser cache on a Microsoft Windows PC:

In Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Click on Tools, then choose Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Click the Delete Files button.
On the Delete Files dialogue box click the OK button. Selecting "Delete all offline content"
is optional.
To close the Internet Options box, click OK (it may take a minute or more to clear the
cache.)

I am having audio difficulties when viewing video. How can I fix this?
Poor audio can result from multiple sources. Internet traffic congestion is the most common cause of pauses or stops, though high CPU usage on your computer or low speed connections can also result in similar issues.

Receiving no audio transmission is generally an indicator that your speakers or system volume have been muted. Make sure that your audio is enabled and that both your system volume and Windows Media Player volume have the "mute" function disabled.
