Dan Scott is CNBC Europe's Zurich-based market reporter. Scott is a fluent German speaker and has extensive knowledge of the German and Swiss markets. As a Dow Jones Newswires Staff Reporter, he wrote about the Automotive Industry, the German economy as well as daily stock market reports. Some of his work was featured in The Wall Street Journal.

After five years as CNBC Europe's Frankfurt Market Reporter, Scott has set up operations in Zurich and now provides daily comment and analysis on Swiss corporate news flow. Scott has an M.A. in European Studies from the University of Basel, Switzerland, with his master's thesis addressing the impact of the euro on the financial landscape of Europe.
