Cyber Monday Kicks Off Online Shopping Season

As we've said--it's "Cyber Monday" – the official start of the online shopping season. Analysts predict almost $460 billion in holiday sales are up for grabs this year--and retailers are boosting their search engine marketing budgets to draw in shoppers.

There does seem to be a bit of hype at work though: "Cyber Monday" is only the ninth-largest online shopping day of the year. So how’d this phenomenon come to be? On Morning call--Jeffrey Grau of E-Marketer and Patti Freeman of Jupiter Research talk about Cyber M-day--and put it in perspective.
