Analyst Lakner: Upscale Department Stores Should Do Fine

Holiday shopping got off to a strong start over the week-end with upscale department stores looking like early winners. And it's not just the grownups who have their hearts set on something luxurious. Kids are going upscale, too.

Dorothy Lakner is Executive Director of CIBC World markets and told Sue Herrera on today's Power Lunch that parents are spending on children's clothing this season. And interestingly enough--parents buy the brands for the kids--that they buy for themselves. Lakner says that despite today's sell of- both Nordstrom and Saks are holding up.
