Closing Bell: Market Wrap Up

The bulls got U.S. Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke to repeat his Goldilocks scenario for the economy, but the market barely moved. The bears think Bernanke’s outlook is rose-tinted and unrealistic. Here’s how the markets ended Tuesday, in what has been an interesting week so far.

The Dow was up 14.74 to close at 12,136.45. The Nasdaq was up 6.69 to 2,412.61. Ten-year bonds eeked out about three basis points to reach just under 4.51%. Oil climbed 63 cents to end the day at $60.95.
