Pier 1 Sales Down 15.3% in November

Pier 1 Imports on Thursday said November sales had fallen 15.3% at its stores open at least a year as aggressive advertising and discounts failed to attract more shoppers.
Analysts on average expected the home decor retailer to post a same-store sales decline of 13.6%, according to estimates gathered by Thomson Financial.
Total sales for the four weeks ended on Nov. 25 fell 14.7% to $144.3 million.
