Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation 3 crowd the videogame market, giving Nintendo’s Wii plenty of competition.

But the newcomer to the gaming console sector is doing just fine, Chris Carle told “Squawk Box.”

Holiday Gaming Outlook
The battle over video game supremacy shows no signs of waning this holiday shopping season. Chris Carle, IGN Entertainment Editorial Manager, tells CNBC's Carl Quintanilla which gaming system will rise to the top.

Carle is the editorial manager for IGN Entertainment – the digital and videogame unit of News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media – and he told CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla that “we can definitely declare Wii the [sales] winner” for this holiday season.

How does Carle see Sony’s PlayStation 3 faring? The frequent gaming blogger muses that, “It depends how many people want to spend money on eBay.” He notes that Sony couldn’t keep store shelves stocked – a potentially disastrous miscalculation – while there are “still people waiting in line” for Wii units.
