Back at Headquarters

Well, we’re back from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. We hope everyone got a chance to see the show yesterday – and, if not, catch what you missed right here on the Mad Money Mad Cap recap blog. The Longhorns in attendance, both graduate and undergraduate, asked some great questions. Heinz CEO and UT alum Bill Johnson stopped by to talk about the influence activist shareholder Nelson Peltz has had on his company. And Cramer put the student money managers at the McCombs MBA Investment Fund under the microscope to see if they would have survived at his old hedge fund.

But don’t think today’s a day off for the staff, by any means. Anyone who knows Cramer can assume that wouldn’t happen – Work! Work! Work! Even as most of us sipped coffee, dozing in and out while waiting for our 7 a.m. flight back to New York, Cramer sat in a crisp suit, typing away on his laptop getting ready for tonight’s show. So we came straight from the airport, had a quick lunch (at our desks) and it was right back on schedule. Right now, notes for the show are darting back and forth through e-mail, viewers’ letters are being chosen for the Mad Mail segment and the three companies Cramer will talk about are being squeezed for all their value to you, the loyal Home Gamer. Of course, we’d love to tell you which stocks Cramer will be focusing on, but that would upset the lawyers. You’ll just have to watch or check back here any time after 6 p.m.

A big thanks to everyone down at UT who made our stay a good one and helped to bring such a big and complicated project to fruition without (much) trouble. In two short weeks, Mad Money will roll into Bloomington for the next Back to School Tour stop at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
