Nissan Motor will recall 1,010,843 vehicles across two models including the March subcompact in Japan, according to a company filing with Japan's transport ministry.

Japan's third-biggest automaker said it expected the recall to cost about 3 billion yen ($25.50 million).

Vehicle recalls have been rising across the industry as automakers use more common components across a broader range of vehicle models to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
