Coffee purveyor Starbucks on Tuesday named Peter Bocian executive vice president and chief financial officer designate, effective May 14.

Bocian, 52, moves to Starbucks from NCR , where he has been CFO since 2004. On October 1, Bocian will succeed Starbucks CFO Michael Casey, who will assume a senior advisory role.

NCR said the CFO search it had started in conjunction with the upcoming separation of its Teradata data-warehousing business from NCR has been expanded to include the CFO position for both companies.

NCR said Bocian will continue as chief financial officer until after it completes its quarterly earnings announcement and files its quarterly report with the SEC. Bocian's resignation is effective May 11.
