The best performing trades by % gain from Monday's close to Tuesday's close were: Valhi : If you bought on Monday at $14.90 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $17.93, the contestant gained 20.34% on the trade. Valhi gained almost 13% Monday and Tuesday, followed with another 20% gain, and there isn't a lot of news out there as to what its gains are derived from. The company is in the pigment business and last week executed a special dividend/spin-off of Titanium Metals or TIMET.

Lawson Software: If you bought on Monday at $8.03 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $8.88, the contestant gained 10.59% on the trade. Lawson forecast that its third-quarter earnings will be above guidance. The company is expected to report on Monday.
Kronos Worldwide: If you bought on Monday at $31.97 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $35.02, the contestant gained 9.54% on the trade. Up on positive earnings.
Chicago Bridge & Iron: If you bought on Monday at $30.21 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $32.97, the contestant gained 9.14% on the trade. CBI was upgraded to a buy at Goldman.
Marshall & Ilsley: If you bought on Monday at $45.86 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $49.83, the contestant gained 8.66% on the trade. M&I to spin-off its financial technology unit, Metavante Corp.
