London, 28 July 2006 - CNBC Europe, the leading pan-European business and financial TV channel, has appointed Guy Johnson as its European Stocks Editor.

Guy will continue his current on-air role as markets reporter on "Squawk Box Europe," CNBC Europe’s signature programme.

As European Stocks Editor, Guy will be the driving force for all editorial coverage of equity stories on the channel. Guy will work closely with Martin Baccardax, European News Editor, to develop story ideas and to identify the most relevant guests and commentators from across Europe.

Barbara Stelzner, Head of News at CNBC Europe, commented, “Guy’s expanded role will bring an even greater level of proprietary analysis to the key European equity stories of the day and will draw on his experience of more than a decade of reporting on Europe’s stock markets and companies.”

Guy joined CNBC Europe’s on-air team in 1999.
