Contest Stocks: CMGI Loses One Of Its Top Spots

Okay, here's a look at the stocks making noise. We focused a bit yesterday in one of the posts, on CMGI becasuse it was on top of both the most active and widely held lists. But--that changed as you will see. The best performing trades By % gain from Monday's close to Tuesday's close: United Rentals (URI): If you bought on Monday at $27.55 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $32.36, the contestant gained 17.46% on the trade. URI said it will explore strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a possible sale of the company.
DivX : If you bought on Monday at $20.10 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $22.50, the contestant gained 11.94% on the trade. DivX raised guidance on its fiscal first-quarter revenue and pre-tax earnings.
Cascade Corp. : If you bought on Monday at $59.27 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $65.39, the contestant gained 10.33% on the trade. Reported strong earnings with a 24% increase in net income.
Aixtron : If you bought on Monday at $7.18 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $7.92, the contestant gained 10.31% on the trade. On rumors that the semiconductor maker was in talks to be acquired by AMAT. AIXG denied any talks.
GrafTech : If you bought on Monday at $9.12 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $9.99, the contestant gained 9.54% on the trade. The company hit a new 52-week high today

Impac Mortgage : If you bought on Monday at $5.10 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $4.49, the contestant lost 11.96% on the trade. On concern over the state of the housing market.
American Home Mortgage : If you bought on Monday at $21.92 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $19.55, the contestant lost 10.81% on the trade. On concern over the state of the housing market.
Valhi : If you bought on Monday at $19.56 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $17.70, the contestant lost 9.51% on the trade. The stock has been volatile since the special dividend with TIMET.
Comtech : If you bought on Monday at $19.57 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $18.14, the contestant lost 7.31% on the trade.
