Contest Stocks: BQI "Slips" From Active, Widely Held

Here's our daily contest "stock report." Earnings again helped and hurt performance. The most active and widely held pretty much the same--except for ENTG and BQI which both fell out of the most active. And gas and oil company BQI also fell from the most widely held. Here you go:

Best performing trades by % gain from Monday's close to Tuesday's close:
Blue Nile : If you bought on Monday at $47.35 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $55.04, the contestant gained 16.24% on the trade--up on strong Q1 earnings.
Florida East Coast Industries: If you bought on Monday at $74.13 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $84.91, the contestant gained 16.24% on the trade--up on news that the railroad and real-estate holding agreed to be acquired by private equity funds managed by Fortress Investment Group.

Worst performing trades by % loss from Monday's close to Tuesday's close:
VeraSun Energy : If you bought on Monday at $19.61 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $16.72, the contestant lost 14.74% on the trade--down on news that VSE swung to a first-quarter loss.
dj Orthopedics : If you bought on Monday at $19.61 and held/sold on Tuesday with a close of $16.72, the contestant lost 13.10% on the trade.
