Update: News Trivia Question--Please Read!

Wednesday, 9 May 2007 | 12:42 PM ET

Okay folks, here's the update on today's news trivia question for Bonus Bucks. Without going into details, there's a problem with the answer selection response. So here's the solution. Those of you who knew the correct answer--and there is one--but got a response of incorrect, you will receive credit for the answer. You will get your Bonus Bucks. This is for the whole day, so if you're still selecting your answers, this applies to you.

Now, for those contestants who selected an answer and got a response of correct--you will ALSO receive credit for the Bonus Bucks. Obviously, our answer response is giving out the wrong information about which answer is correct and which are incorrect. However, as I said, the right answer is listed in your selections.

The news question is worth $1,000 Bonus Bucks: According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, what was the average for a 30-year fixed rate mortgage (excluding fees) last week?

And here's the video question again. It's worth $2,000 Bonus Bucks: Toyota posted stronger than expected results this morning. By how much did quarterly net profit rise? Your selection of answers is: 8.9% or 13.1% or 2.3% or 12.3%.

The answers can be found in the News and Video sections of CNBC.com. Bonus CNBC Bucks will be added to your portfolio cash balance by 8:30 a.m. the day after you answer the question correctly. (We do expect to add Bonus Bucks as stated above, barring any delays in calculating the responses to the news trivia question.) Good luck and our apologies for the inconvenience today.
