French First-Quarter Employment Rises 0.6%

French employment rose a provisional 0.6% in the first quarter, after an 0.2% rise in the previous quarter, statistics office Insee said.

Employment stood at 15.779 million at the end of the quarter, against 15.685 million at the end of last year.

The figures exclude the agriculture, public administration, education and health sectors.
