Bubba Watson

Bubba Watson might be on his way to becoming a marketing star. The 28-year-old who hasn't won in his year and a half on the PGA Tour or even on the Nationwide Tour, seems like he's at least on the cusp of winning. He has four Top 10 finishes and looked good today here at Oakmont, firing an even 70.

If Watson can win a major like this one, he sure is a great blend of uniqueness. It starts with his name, a name everyone has loved since "Forrest Gump." Then, his name matches his every day guy approach -- he reportedly has never had a formal golf lesson and doesn't have a swing coach. It continues with the fact that everyone digs the long ball and Watson is the king of the long drive on tour.

On the Nationwide Tour, this guy drove a ball 422 yards. He then capitalizes on that by toting around a hot pink driver. I'm loving Bubba Watson right now, who could have as many endorsement offers as Bubba Gump has styles of shrimp. Rumors have him already being aligned with Steve & Barry's for a possible "Bubba Golf" clothing line. Stay tuned.
